Development guided by buyers.
Russell Bragg founded Bragg & Co, the UK resort and residential development advisory firm, in 1989. He has advised on projects in 21 countries with over $1 billion in gross development value, including Gleneagles, Celtic Manor, Aphrodite Hills and Conrad Algarve, taking schemes from business plan to sell-out.
His approach starts with the highest and best use of a site and the lowest practical development risk. He works with landowners, developers and investors at board level before launch, when decisions on product, pricing and phasing carry the most weight, then builds the marketing and sales operation needed to deliver them.
Through Premier Resorts, which he co-founded and ran from 1997 to 2008, he helped sell around 4,800 resort homes worth about £560 million across the UK, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.
At the heart of his work is a buyers-first philosophy: build what people need, where they need it, at the right price.
In 2000, Russell co-founded The World’s Finest Resorts with John Kazanjian and the late Carl Berry, an early luxury exchange platform for second-home owners acquired by Cendant, then owner of RCI, in 2006.
Current work includes the launch strategy for Mar Adentro, Lantia’s 200-apartment waterfront regeneration in Faro, Portugal, and lead development consultancy for Legends Tour Estates, a branded, golf-led residential resort platform.
Russell has judged the International Property Awards since 2014 and co-wrote The Art of Rightsizing, a guide to planning homes.
