Financial foundations for development

Chris Abbott serves as Managing Director of Finance for LandMarkers Development Group, where he directs investment strategies and acquisitions, establishes financial deal structures, conducts equity and specialty debt sourcing, and oversees partnership reporting. His forte is determining and establishing solid financial underpinnings for challenging development opportunities undertaken by LandMarkers Development Group.

Chris founded Legend Capital Advisors in 2013, helping clients source capital and structure financing. For the 10 years prior to Legend, he worked with Palladian Capital Advisors, helping the firm source over $2 billion in capital on behalf of its clients.

Before joining Palladian, Chris was a pioneer, founder and owner of several resort real estate businesses. In 1996, he created and developed The River Club in Telluride, Colorado, one of the luxury resort industry’s first fractional private residence clubs.

Following that project, Chris helped initiate the launch of the country’s first non-equity luxury resort project. In 2000, he joined Russell Bragg, Carl Berry and John Kazanjian to create The World’s Finest Resorts, the country’s first luxury resort reciprocation service and use exchange trading company. The company sold to Cendant/RCI in late 2005 and subsequently operated as RCI’s Global Collection.

Chris graduated from Brown University with a triple major in History, Business Economics, and Organizational Behavior and Management. He started all four years on the men’s varsity lacrosse team. As the leading midfield goal scorer, he helped propel the team to a No. 6 national ranking and the Ivy League Championship in 1985.

Chris received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from AIMR in 1997. He is a licensed real estate agent in California.
