Bj (Bettejean) Kelly

Resort operations and administration experience

Bj (Bettejean) Kelly brings over 30 years of experience in resort real estate operations administration. She currently serves as VP Operations for Global Vacations Marketing Corp., where she directs Loan and Maintenance Fee Servicing, Accounting, Club Member Services, Collections, Human Resources and all non-sales and marketing departments, including loan audits and communication as required by hypothecation lenders. She concurrently serves as Director of Administration for RTK Resort Group.

For the majority of her career, Bj held increasingly responsible positions culminating as Vice President Administration for Winners Circle Resorts International, Inc. (WCRI), a pioneering Southern California timeshare development, marketing and sales organization. There she directed the in-house Document Processing/Escrow Department, Accounting Department, Owner Services, Human Resources, Computer Services, Marketing Department staff administration and resort management for multiple resort properties.

Bj has served as the developer’s representative and Board Member for Gaslamp Plaza Suites and Dolphin’s Cove Resort, where she was involved in all areas of the resorts’ development, from conception, construction and DRE approval to budgets, operations, and sales and marketing.

In 1986, WCRI began the development approval process to build the L’Auberge hotel in Del Mar. Bj was a key member of the team that worked from the start to make the resort a reality, including running a grassroots campaign to obtain voter approval to build the hotel.

During her last two years at WCRI, Bj worked with the President/Owner to sell the company’s major assets to Fairfield Communities, Inc., now Wyndham Resorts International, including two vacation ownership properties for more than $29 million and the sale of the installment notes.

Early in her career, Bj held administrative assistant positions with Idanta Partners in La Jolla, California; Kwasha Lipton in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey; the Chicago Board Options Exchange in Chicago, Illinois; and Becker Securities in New York, New York.

In addition to her professional work, Bj co-chaired a volunteer committee for the San Dieguito Boys & Girls Clubs. She was a member of its G.I.R.L.S. Board for many years and served as its president. Bj achieved the distinguished Competent Communicator award, formerly known as CTM (Certified Toastmaster), from Toastmasters.
